An ace performance by Reid Kelly lifted the Traverse City Beach Bums (63-31) to a 3-2 win over the Road Warriors (8-26) on Friday at Wuerfel Park.

The Traverse City Beach Bums got the win thanks in large part to Kelly's dominant, 10-strikeout performance. Kelly allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over seven innings.

Sean Gusrang helped the Traverse City Beach Bums pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. With the score tied at one in the seventh inning, Gusrang came to the plate and homered, bringing home Chase Burch and Jeff Flagg.

Gusrang racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He homered in the seventh innings.

The Traverse City Beach Bums would not relinquish the lead as the Road Warriors were unable to weather a two-run seventh inning deficit.

The Road Warriors scored one run in the eighth on an RBI triple by Matt Wright. Despite their efforts, the Road Warriors couldn't finish the comeback.

Shawn Marquardt (2-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
