The Washington Wild Things (17-29) outlasted the Schaumburg Boomers (29-18) on Saturday after six lead changes, squeaking out a 7-5 win at Boomers Stadium.

The Washington Wild Things would not relinquish the lead as the Schaumburg Boomers were unable to weather a three-run eighth inning deficit.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Nate Baumann. Still, the Schaumburg Boomers couldn't draw even.

Rick Devereaux racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Chris Smith racked up seven strikeouts in the the Washington Wild Things win. Smith allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Cameron Roth couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked four, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
