The Schaumburg Boomers need walk-off single to beat the River City Rascals, 6-5

A walk-off single from Drew Heithoff brought home the winning run for the Schaumburg Boomers (13-8) in a 6-5 victory over the River City Rascals (14-7) in 10 innings at Boomers Stadium on Sunday.

Heithoff had a hot bat for the Schaumburg Boomers. Heithoff went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second, eighth, and tenth innings.

Chad Mozingo got on base three times in the game for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the tenth inning.

The River City Rascals had no answer for Patrick Mincey, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Mincey held the River City Rascals hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Adam Tollefson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Dustin Umberger couldn't get it done on the rubber for the River City Rascals, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
