The Joliet Slammers (24-32) and the Windy City ThunderBolts (33-22) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Joliet Slammers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at Silver Cross Field.

Abel Nieves reached base three times in the game for the Joliet Slammers. He scored two runs and had two RBIs. He doubled in the fifth inning.

The Joliet Slammers relied on Jacob Sanchez to eat up innings en route to the win. Sanchez allowed two earned runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Dustin Williams couldn't get it done on the bump for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just 7 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
