The Florence Freedom (24-19) took the last of eight lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Joliet Slammers (18-25), securing a 8-6 victory on Tuesday at Silver Cross Field.
John Malloy racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Hector Pellot was hot from the plate for the Joliet Slammers. Pellot went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
