The Gateway Grizzlies (53-36) and the Normal CornBelters (28-61) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Gateway Grizzlies capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at GCS Ballpark - Sauget, IL.

The Gateway Grizzlies would not relinquish the lead as the Normal CornBelters were unable to weather a three-run sixth inning deficit.

The Normal CornBelters scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Jesse Olivar. Despite their efforts, the Normal CornBelters couldn't get over the hump.

Jonathan Johnson reached base four times. He singled in the first inning.

JaVaun West looked sharp on the mound. West gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
