The Gateway Grizzlies (43-29) pounded the River City Rascals (34-38) on Sunday 8-1 at GCS Ballpark - Sauget, IL.

The Gateway Grizzlies scored three runs in the eighth on a two-run single by Jonathan Johnson and an RBI single by Antone DeJesus.

The River City Rascals jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The River City Rascals were ahead until the fourth inning, but the Gateway Grizzlies would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a solo home run by Chris McClendon.

Jon Myers had two extra-base hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Alex Kaminsky picked up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. Kaminsky allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out four over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Liam Ohlmann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
