Samuelson leads the Washington Wild Things to 7-5 win over the Florence Freedom

Sunday was a great day for Mark Samuelson, as he hit two home runs to carry the Washington Wild Things (39-51) to a 7-5 victory over the Florence Freedom (51-39) at Home of the Florence Freedom.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.

Jhonny Montoya looked sharp on the mound. Montoya gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

David Harris had two extra-base hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the third and sixth innings.

Ian Durham couldn't get it done on the hill for the Florence Freedom, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The Washington Wild Things were sparked by Andrew Heck and Samuelson, who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.
