The Schaumburg Boomers (41-27) and the Florence Freedom (36-32) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-4 win at Home of the Florence Freedom.

The Schaumburg Boomers would not relinquish the lead as the Florence Freedom were unable to weather a four-run seventh inning deficit.

The Florence Freedom scored two runs in the ninth on an RBI double by Pierre LePage and an RBI triple by John Malloy. Still, the Florence Freedom couldn't draw even.

Steve McQuail racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the seventh inning.

Cody Griebling picked up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Griebling pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out three.

Sean Gregory couldn't get it done on the mound for the Florence Freedom, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out three.
