The Gateway Grizzlies (20-20) trailed by two in the ninth, but the Gateway Grizzlies recovered thanks to a key single in the tenth inning from Jerod Yakubik to pull out a 13-11 win in 10 innings over the Florence Freedom (22-18) at Home of the Florence Freedom on Friday.

With the score tied at 11, Yakubik came to the plate and singled, bringing home Antone DeJesus.

Yakubik racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second, sixth, and tenth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 24 total runs and 29 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using 10 pitchers in total.

Matt Kline was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Gateway Grizzlies hammered the Florence Freedom pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
