The Evansville Otters get key pinch-hit in 4-2 victory over the Normal CornBelters

Brett Chamberlain was cold coming off the bench, but Chamberlain warmed up quickly as Chamberlain stroked a key pinch-hit single in the four to lead the Evansville Otters (35-37) to a 4-2 win over the Normal CornBelters (23-49) on Sunday at Bosse Field.

With the Evansville Otters trailing by one in the fourth inning, Chamberlain came to the plate and singled.

The Normal CornBelters were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Normal CornBelters led until the fifth inning, but the Evansville Otters took the lead back on a three-run home run by Luis Uribe.

Uribe racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the fifth inning.

Wynn Pelzer improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered eight hits.

Drew Provence was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
