The Evansville Otters (26-35) and the Southern Illinois Miners (36-25) passed the lead back and forth five times on Wednesday at Bosse Field, but in the end the Evansville Otters pulled out a 7-5 win over the Southern Illinois Miners.

The Evansville Otters pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. A fielder's choice scored Matt Sheely and gave the Evansville Otters the lead for good.

Taylor Black racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Jake Kaase had two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh innings.

Dan Marcacci improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.

David Harden ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out four.
