Four first-inning runs helped the Lake Erie Crushers (6-10) to a 4-2 win over the Evansville Otters (6-10) at Bosse Field on Tuesday.

The Lake Erie Crushers staved off the Evansville Otters as the Evansville Otters were unable to match the Lake Erie Crushers down the stretch.

The Evansville Otters scored on an RBI single by Brett Chamberlain in the sixth inning and a solo home run by Nick Schwaner in the eighth inning. Still, the Evansville Otters couldn't catch the Lake Erie Crushers.

Eric Gonzalez-Diaz recorded his first win of the year for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed one run over six innings. Gonzalez-Diaz struck out three, walked none and gave up eight hits.

Dan Blewett was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
