Brandon Anderson went 2-4, sparking the Rockford RiverHawks (3-7) to a 6-2 victory over the River City Rascals (9-1) on Saturday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

Justin Gill had an impressive outing against the Rockford RiverHawks' lineup. The Rockford RiverHawks managed just one hit off of the the River City Rascals' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Drew Rucinski recorded his first win of the year for the Rockford RiverHawks. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered one hit.

Justin Edwards (1-1) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

The Rockford RiverHawks jumped out to an early lead in the top of the third, scoring one run on two hits. Anderson singled to start things off before Jet Butler singled, bringing home Anderson.

The Rockford RiverHawks never trailed after scoring three runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Devin Shepherd and a two-run single by Evan Button.

The Rockford RiverHawks got one-run rallies in the sixth inning and the ninth. In the sixth, the Rockford RiverHawks scored on an RBI single by Elvin Millan Jr., plating Matt Greener.
