Bobby Burk went 1-4 and hit a home run, helping the River City Rascals (9-1) to a 4-0 victory over the Rockford RiverHawks (3-7) on Friday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.
He homered in the eighth inning.The Rockford RiverHawks had no answer for Brad Stillings, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Stillings gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.
A bright spot for the Rockford RiverHawks in the defeat was Alex Szymanski, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.
Szymanski couldn't get it done on the hill for the Rockford RiverHawks, taking a loss.
The River City Rascals didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning when they scored on a solo home run by Josh Workman.
