The Keene Swamp Bats top the Holyoke Blue Sox in back-and-forth affair, 9-5

The Keene Swamp Bats (26-11) outlasted the Holyoke Blue Sox (14-23) on Friday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 9-5 win at Alumni Field,Keene,NH.

Frankie Schwindel racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Keene Swamp Bats. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Holyoke Blue Sox couldn't get anything going so long as Tyler Gauthier was on the hill. The Holyoke Blue Sox managed just one hit off of Gauthier, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Paul McConkey had a hot bat for the Holyoke Blue Sox. McConkey went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the eighth inning.

Even though Scott Simon allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. Simon struck out four, walked three and gave up 12 hits.

David Speer couldn't get it done on the bump for the Holyoke Blue Sox, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out two.
