The Vermont Mountaineers (17-16) pounded the Holyoke Blue Sox (14-21) on Saturday 10-4 at Montpelier Recreation Field.
The Vermont Mountaineers scored three runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Rob Kelly, an RBI double by Greg Partyka, and an RBI single by John Mishu.
Logan Pierce had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first innings and doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Holyoke Blue Sox couldn't get anything going as long as Matt McAllister was on the mound. McAllister held the Holyoke Blue Sox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Chris OHare was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out four.
The Vermont Mountaineers' Pierce, Partyka and Mishu combined for seven hits and four RBIs.
