Kelly stars as the Vermont Mountaineers defeat the Laconia Muskrats, 14-12

An excellent effort by Rob Kelly spurred the Vermont Mountaineers (13-16) to a 14-12 win over the Laconia Muskrats (11-20) on Sunday at Robbie Mills Park.

Kelly racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Vermont Mountaineers. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the first and seventh innings.

Kyle Convissar rocked the Vermont Mountaineers with two home runs. Convissar went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Convissar homered in the second and fourth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 26 total runs and 30 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with six lead changes.

Brad Schnelle improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Vermont Mountaineers. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Nicholas Kevlin ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
