The New Bedford Bay Sox (19-11) scored four runs in the eighth to cap a 10-2 win over the Mystic Schooners (4-24) on Friday.

Alex Black pushed the New Bedford Bay Sox ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. After Zach Stone doubled, Black came to the plate with zero outs in the sixth and singled, scoring Stone.

Stone racked up three RBIs on three hits for the New Bedford Bay Sox. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Brian Derner baffled the Mystic Schooners, striking out 10 batters. Derner allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk over five innings.

John Lieske improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the New Bedford Bay Sox. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Bob Cook ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
