Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Danbury Westerners (11-13) outscored the Vermont Mountaineers (10-12) 12-9.
The two teams combined for 27 hits in the game.
Scott Hagan racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Danbury Westerners. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third innings.
Brett Houseal struck out six hitters en route to the the Danbury Westerners win. Houseal allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk over seven innings.
Richie Ochoa (1-1) took the loss for the Vermont Mountaineers. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
