The Newport Gulls (8-3) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Laconia Muskrats (6-8), securing a 9-7 victory on Saturday at Robbie Mills Park.

The Newport Gulls would not relinquish the lead as the Laconia Muskrats were unable to weather a four-run fourth inning deficit.

The Laconia Muskrats scored two runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Connor Castellano. Despite their efforts, the Laconia Muskrats couldn't get over the hump.

Joel McKeithan racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Newport Gulls. He homered in the fourth inning.
