Sheehan Planas-Arteaga drove in the go-ahead run to give the North Adams SteepleCats (9-5) the lead in the eighth inning, as the North Adams SteepleCats hung on to beat the Holyoke Blue Sox (5-8) 4-2 on Saturday.
After Jeff Roy doubled, Planas-Arteaga came to the plate with zero outs in the eighth and singled, scoring Roy.Roy was solid at the plate for the North Adams SteepleCats. Roy went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and second innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
Nick Narodowy picked up the win for the North Adams SteepleCats. Narodowy allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.
A bright spot for the Holyoke Blue Sox in the defeat was Andrew Thome, who allowed only three runs while striking out eight.
Thome couldn't get it done on the mound for the Holyoke Blue Sox, taking a loss.
