Brian Carroll brought home the winning run to give the Cowlitz Black Bears (21-22) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Cowlitz Black Bears hung on to beat the Klamath Falls Gems (21-24) 3-2 on Sunday.
After Austin Diemer singled, Carroll singled, bringing home Diemer.Bud Collura paced the Cowlitz Black Bears at the plate. Collura went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.
Leko Galusha pitched lights out for the Cowlitz Black Bears. The Klamath Falls Gems managed just one hit off of Galusha, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out one during his five innings of work.
Tommy Nance recorded his first win of the year for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He struck out five, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Thomas Thorpe (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
