A superb effort by Cord Cockrill hoisted the Kelowna Falcons (26-19) to a 2-0 win over the Bellingham Bells (26-17) on Saturday at Joe Martin Field.
Cockrill held the Bellingham Bells scoreless for 8 1/3 innings. Cockrill struck out five and allowed two walks and four hits.
Andrew Firth was hot from the plate for the Kelowna Falcons. Firth went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.
Despite the loss, the Bellingham Bells' Andrew Olson dominated the Kelowna Falcons' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.
Olson was charged with his third loss of the year.
