A walk-off single from Kris Paulino brought home the winning run for the Walla Walla Sweets (17-24) in a 5-4 victory over the Wenatchee AppleSox at Borleske Stadium on Wednesday.
Paulino had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first inning, tripled in the eighth inning, and singled in the third and ninth innings.
A bright spot for the Wenatchee AppleSox (27-13) in the defeat was Beau Kerns, who allowed only three runs while striking out six.
Ben Ruff improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Walla Walla Sweets. Ruff struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.
Tony Bryant (0-1) took the loss for the Wenatchee AppleSox. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
