The Cowlitz Black Bears (17-20) and the Walla Walla Sweets (15-22) exchanged the lead five times on Thursday, but the Cowlitz Black Bears ended up on top with a 5-2 win over the Walla Walla Sweets.

The Cowlitz Black Bears pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. A sacrifice fly by Tyler Madrid scored Austin Wobrock and gave the Cowlitz Black Bears the lead for good.

Brian Frattali racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Leko Galusha picked up the win for the Cowlitz Black Bears. Galusha pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out five.

Shane Zeile did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Walla Walla Sweets, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Zach Brandon (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
