The Kitsap BlueJackets (9-24) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Cowlitz Black Bears (11-14) on Thursday, as the Kitsap BlueJackets fell 8-7 at Kitsap Fairgrounds after falling behind by five runs in the eighth inning.

The Kitsap BlueJackets scored four runs in the eighth on a three-run double by Scotty Burcham and an RBI single by Kasey Chapan. Despite their efforts, the Kitsap BlueJackets couldn't finish the comeback.

Drew Luther racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He singled in the second, third, and fifth innings.

Jerad Casper racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Kitsap BlueJackets. He homered in the first inning.

Kody Watts improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Kevin Baumgartner was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out five.
