The Cowlitz Black Bears (8-12) beat the Bend Elks (9-12) 9-3 on Friday thanks to a four-run eighth inning.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the eighth, with five lead changes.

Austin Diemer put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the ninth innings.

Leko Galusha allowed no earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out two over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Taylor Williams improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Cowlitz Black Bears. Williams struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.

Daniel Chavez couldn't get it done on the hill for the Bend Elks, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
