An ace performance by Sean Hartnett spurred the Bellingham Bells (13-6) to a 6-0 win over the Corvallis Knights on Wednesday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
The Corvallis Knights (15-5) had no answer for Hartnett, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Corvallis Knights managed just one hit off of the the Bellingham Bells' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six during his eight innings of work.
Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Bellingham Bells to easily put away the Corvallis Knights. A two-run double by Joe Winterburn and a two-run single by Johnny Farrington during the second inning fueled the Bellingham Bells' offense early.
Derek Atkinson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bellingham Bells. He singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.
A.J. Burke ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
