A walk-off single from Caleb Whalen brought home the winning run for the Corvallis Knights (15-4) in a 3-2 victory over the Bellingham Bells (12-6) at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field on Tuesday.
Whalen was hot from the plate for the Corvallis Knights. Whalen went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the sixth and ninth innings.
Nick Torres was solid at the plate for the Corvallis Knights. Torres went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jorge Perez pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out four.
Jarel Lewis racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bellingham Bells. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Devon Barker got the win, running his season record to 3-0. Barker struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.
