Marc Gallegos brought home the winning run to give the Corvallis Knights (7-4) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Corvallis Knights hung on to beat the Walla Walla Sweets (3-7) 2-0 on Wednesday.
Austin Hamilton to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Gallegos came to the plate with the game scoreless in the seventh inning and singled, bringing home Hamilton.Gallegos had a hot bat for the Corvallis Knights. Gallegos went 3-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
Bryan Granger pitched lights out for the Corvallis Knights. The Walla Walla Sweets managed just three hits off of the the Corvallis Knights' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Blake Burrell got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Luke West ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
