The Walla Walla Sweets (3-6) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Bend Elks (7-2) on Tuesday, as the Walla Walla Sweets fell 6-4 at Vince Genna Stadium after falling behind by five runs in the third inning.

The Walla Walla Sweets scored on a sacrifice fly by Kalani Brackenridge in the seventh inning and an RBI single by Jarrod Turner and a two-run home run by Spencer ONeil in the ninth inning. Still, the Walla Walla Sweets couldn't draw even.

Bo Walter went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Bend Elks. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and seventh innings.

The Walla Walla Sweets couldn't get anything going as long as Daniel Chavez was pitching. The Walla Walla Sweets managed just two hits off of Chavez, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his three innings of work.

ONeil racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Walla Walla Sweets.

DJ Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
