The Bellingham Bells drub the Kitsap BlueJackets, 10-2

The Bellingham Bells (4-2) pounded the Kitsap BlueJackets (4-4) on Friday 10-2 at Kitsap Fairgrounds in seven innings.

The Bellingham Bells scored four runs in the fifth on an error, a two-run error, and a sacrifice fly by Jake Peevyhouse.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

The Bellingham Bells finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. A two-run error scored Nathaniel Causey and Michael Gerlach and gave the Bellingham Bells the lead for good.

Jarel Lewis got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Karl Myers put together a nice outing. The Kitsap BlueJackets managed just two hits off of the the Bellingham Bells' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Taylor Nicholson got the win for the Bellingham Bells. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out five, walked none and surrendered eight hits.

The Bellingham Bells were sparked by Lewis and Andrew Ely, who teamed up for six hits and three RBIs.

Brad Nease took the loss for the Kitsap BlueJackets. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
