Both the Cowlitz Black Bears (2-3) and the Kelowna Falcons (0-2) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Cowlitz Black Bears that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-1 win at Story Field.

Tyler Hoelzen was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
