The Corvallis Knights (4-1) continued to pile up the runs on Saturday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 12-3 win over the Walla Walla Sweets (2-3) at Borleske Stadium.
The Corvallis Knights scored three runs in the eighth on an RBI double by Nate Blackham, an RBI single by Caleb Whalen, , and a single by Tyler Campbell.
Blackham racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Corvallis Knights.
The Walla Walla Sweets had no answer for Kendall Motes, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Walla Walla Sweets managed just two hits off of the the Corvallis Knights' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Brett Jacobs put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Walla Walla Sweets. He doubled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.
Jorge Perez got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over five innings. Perez struck out two, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Joe Arlt was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
