Sam Sustersic went 2-4, sparking the Piedmont Pride (34-9) to a 2-1 victory over the Team Charlotte (9-35) on Thursday at Winthrop University.

The Team Charlotte's lineup had no answer for Daniel Sweeney. Sweeney gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Trevor Rhyne got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Willis Dobison improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Piedmont Pride. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered one hit.

Jerod Jobst ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
