The Piedmont Pride (31-7) beat the Concord Weavers 10-1 in seven innings on Friday at Winthrop University after a seven-run explosion in the fourth inning.
The Piedmont Pride scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Ryan Kahl, an RBI single by Trey Logan, a three-run home run by Sam Sustersic, an RBI single by Derek Horton, and an RBI single by Mike Morgan.
Sustersic racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Piedmont Pride.
Jason Goe brought the heat against the Concord Weavers (11-25) during his outing. Goe held the Concord Weavers hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Despite the loss, the Concord Weavers' Nick Coble dominated the Piedmont Pride's batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.
Harrison Bell (0-6) took the loss for the Concord Weavers. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
