The Carolina Vipers offense too much for the Team Charlotte in 16-5 rout

The Carolina Vipers (10-20) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Team Charlotte (6-24), recording a 16-5 victory on Friday at EastMechhighschool.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Carolina Vipers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A groundout by Eddie Hull and a two-run single by Tommy Bullock in the first inning and an RBI single by Bowe Behymer, an RBI single by Brett Branton, and during the second inning fueled the Carolina Vipers' offense early.

The Carolina Vipers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Branton, who went 2-2 against the Team Charlotte's pitching.

Legrant was hot from the plate for the Team Charlotte. Legrant went 3-4. He singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.

Dunning got the win for the Carolina Vipers despite allowing five runs over seven innings. Dunning struck out 11, walked three and gave up 12 hits.

Koon couldn't get it done on the hill for the Team Charlotte, taking a loss. He allowed 16 runs in seven innings, walked eight and struck out four.
