Brian Mayer knocked in three runs as the Palm Beach Xtreme (18-9) took home a 5-2 victory over the Coral Springs Royals (8-13) at Coral Glades Sportsplex on Friday.

He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and homered in the eighth inning.

Jack Corbell handled the Coral Springs Royals' lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Corbell allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over six innings.

Despite the loss, the Coral Springs Royals' Marc Soto dominated the Palm Beach Xtreme's batters, giving up one run and striking out five.

Matthew Paciello did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Coral Springs Royals, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.

Max Tannenbaum improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Palm Beach Xtreme. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered one hit.

John Haney couldn't get it done on the bump for the Coral Springs Royals, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
