Both the Concord Weavers (7-11) and the Lake Norman Copperheads (6-13) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Concord Weavers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-3 win.

The Concord Weavers had no answer for Kellen McCoy, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Concord Weavers managed just three hits off of McCoy, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Bronson Short improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Concord Weavers. He allowed three runs over five innings. Short struck out four, walked three and gave up four hits.

McCoy couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lake Norman Copperheads, taking a loss.
