Tyler Paulsen had two extra base hits, sparking the Grand Lake Mariners (9-4) to a 2-1 victory over the Lorain County Ironmen (7-7) on Sunday at Celina,OH (Montgomery Field).
He doubled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.Alex Valasek picked up the win for the Grand Lake Mariners. Valasek pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out four.
Milo Sklar pitched lights out for the Lorain County Ironmen. Sklar held the Grand Lake Mariners hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Trevor Ray (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
