JJ Shimko went 1-4 as the Albany Dutchmen (9-5) took home a 6-1 victory over the Amsterdam Mohawks (8-6) at Shuttleworth Park on Wednesday.
He singled in the fifth innings.The Amsterdam Mohawks couldn't get anything going so long as Jeff Rivera was on the hill. The Amsterdam Mohawks managed just one hit off of the the Albany Dutchmen's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.
A bright spot for the Amsterdam Mohawks in the defeat was Austin Keen, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.
Jack Grabek improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Albany Dutchmen. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered no hits.
Keen (0-1) took the loss for the Amsterdam Mohawks.
