An exceptional effort by Gavin Wallace carried the Albany Dutchmen (21-18) to a 6-1 win over the Amsterdam Mohawks (28-14) on Friday at Shuttleworth Park.
Wallace kept the Amsterdam Mohawks off the board during his seven innings of work. Wallace allowed two hits, one walk and struck out six.
Cole Malloy got on base two times in the game for the Albany Dutchmen. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.
The Albany Dutchmen's lineup had no answer for Johnny Malatesta. Malatesta held the Albany Dutchmen hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Griffin Roberts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
