The bats were busy at Victor High School on Friday, and when the dust cleared the Victor RailRiders (17-17) had a 16-8 win over the Newark Pilots (21-18).
The teams totaled 28 hits in the game.
Twelve runs in the first three innings helped the Victor RailRiders blow out the Newark Pilots. A hit by pitch, a two-run double by Landon Powell, and a two-run single by Adam Genners during the first inning and an RBI single by Powell, an RBI single by Powell, and a two-run single by Genners in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Victor RailRiders.
Powell racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Victor RailRiders.
Dan Cunicho pitched lights out for the Victor RailRiders. Cunicho held the Newark Pilots hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.
Even though Colin Johnston allowed eight runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. Johnston struck out five, walked one and gave up 10 hits.
Skyler Defer (5-3) took the loss for the Newark Pilots. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
The Victor RailRiders pounded the Newark Pilots pitching, as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
