A four-run explosion in the ninth inning led the Newark Pilots (16-9) to a 7-1 win over the Geneva Red Wings at Colburn Park on Tuesday.
The Newark Pilots scored in the ninth on a two-run single by William Gorman, a double by Darian Herncane, , a single by Jordan Swiss, , and a sacrifice fly by Mark Tumosa.
Herncane had two extra-base hits for the Newark Pilots.
Sam Harrington picked up the win for the Newark Pilots. Harrington allowed one earned run, seven hits and no walks while striking out two over seven innings of work.
Dalton Reed pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out four.
Reed couldn't get it done on the mound for the Geneva Red Wings (6-16), taking a loss.
