The Elmira Pioneers (14-8) beat the Victor RailRiders (9-14) 10-3 on Sunday thanks to a three-run ninth inning.
The Elmira Pioneers scored in the ninth on an RBI double by Jason Patnick, a single by Isaiah Lewis, and a sacrifice fly by Troy Dixon.
Patnick put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Elmira Pioneers.
Stephen Arnsten pitched lights out for the Elmira Pioneers. Arnsten held the Victor RailRiders hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
It was a good day at the plate for the Victor RailRiders' John Conti. Conti went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Cody Thompson recorded his first win of the year for the Elmira Pioneers. He allowed one run over two innings. Thompson struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Brian Reed (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out nine, and allowed four runs.
The Elmira Pioneers' Dixon, Lewis, Tyler Plantier and Patnick combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
