Taylor Ahearn hopes every outing could go as well as Thursday, as Ahearn threw six scoreless innings to carry the Elmira Pioneers (9-4) to a 3-0 victory over the Newark Pilots (9-6) at Dunn Field.

Nick Graham was hot from the plate for the Elmira Pioneers. Graham went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh innings.

Despite the loss, the Newark Pilots' Ryan Wesson dominated the Elmira Pioneers' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Austin Hansen improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Elmira Pioneers. Hansen struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Wesson (2-1) took the loss for the Newark Pilots.
