The Utica Blue Sox take out the Newark Pilots with help from Jennings, 9-7

Franklin Jennings collected four hits, sparking the Utica Blue Sox (22-9) to a 9-7 victory over the Newark Pilots (20-15) on Saturday at Donovan Stadium.

He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first, second, and seventh innings.

Chris Whelan was hot from the plate for the Newark Pilots. Whelan went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Brian Kavanagh recorded his third win of the year for the Utica Blue Sox. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Jacob Hendricks (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
