The Albany Dutchmen take out the Saugerties Stallions with help from Shimko, 6-1

JJ Shimko went 2-4 as the Albany Dutchmen (4-2) took home a 6-1 victory over the Saugerties Stallions (4-2) at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field on Thursday.

He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh innings.

The Saugerties Stallions had no answer for Evan Giles, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Saugerties Stallions managed just two hits off of Giles, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Caleb Gregg had an impressive outing against the Albany Dutchmen's lineup. Gregg gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Troy Montemayor got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered no hits.

John Doherty (0-1) took the loss for the Saugerties Stallions. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
