Luke Johnson went 2-3, sparking the Geneva Red Wings (3-1) to a 6-1 victory over the Utica Blue Sox (4-1) on Monday at Donovan Stadium.

He singled in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

The Utica Blue Sox had no answer for Dalton Reed, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Utica Blue Sox managed just three hits off of Reed, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Taylor Olmstead reached base two times in the game for the Utica Blue Sox. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Michael Klingensmith (0-1) took the loss for the Utica Blue Sox. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
